I am so proud to introduce the first EVER cohort of Sour Lemons young leaders!
They are funny, inspiring, talented, dedicated, perceptive and humble. They possess the qualities that our industry is so desperately in need of and their taste, backgrounds, outlooks and abilities are so diverse it’s scary. Their potential is endless and collectively they make a powerhouse filled with juicy lemonade.
On our first full day together we spent time brainstorming goals that they want to achieve by the end of the year. They each came up with a list to aim towards and then wrote One Big Fat Goal for the wonderful Raquel Duran to turn into visual minutes.
Over the next 7 months they will be exposed to a range of world class organisations, ranging from The Roundhouse, to The Barbican, Studio Blup, UnLtd, PwC and many more in between. They will meet over 60 creative professionals who will serve as mentors, workshop leaders and keynote speakers – all giving their time for free because they believe in the potential of these young leaders and of Sour Lemons.
We will explore the fundamentals of being a creative leader; the skills, experiences, ethos and capabilities needed to thrive in such a competitive industry. I want them to feel overloaded with contacts, knowledge and possibilities – they are the sculptures of their own futures and they will leave Sour Lemons feeling ready to lead creatively and take a seat at the decision making table.
This is only the beginning and I am already in awe of what they have achieved so far. The next six months will be magical and I feel so privileged to be a small part of an important journey.
When Life Gives You Sour Lemons, Make Lemonade.
